OMAS Circular – Requests for Temporary Access

This Office has reviewed the procedure regarding temporary access.

With effect from Wednesday 8th October 2008, the standard application attached to this circular shall be used when forwarding requests for temporary access. You are kindly requested to adhere to this format. If the application is not duly filled in or if there is missing information, then the application will not be processed by OMAS.

Applications shall be forwarded to OMAS on e-mail address or on fax number 21802979.


To ensure that requests are processed in time, requests are to reach this Office (Monday – Friday) by latest 1300 hours.

During weekends, requests of an urgent nature shall be directed to the AFM Terminal Control Room on telephone number 2369 6999. The AFM Duty Officer shall handle the relevant request as deemed appropriate.

Approvals / Refusals of Temporary Requests

Companies / entities will not be notified regarding approved requests. Such requests will only be forwarded to AFM.
Only in the case where an application for a visitors’ pass is not approved, will  the company/entity concerned be notified.


All visitors shall be reminded that they are required to produce means of identification at the access gate. The identification document shall include, at least, the name and surname, photograph of bearer and an official document number. Visitors who do not have the required identification will not be allowed access by AFM personnel.

Documents that may be presented to AFM at Access Gates include the following:
•   Identity Card
•   Passport
•   Driving Licence
•   Company IDs

Collection of Visitors’ Pass

With the exception of Gate 4, a Visitors’ Pass shall be collected from the relevant access gate.

Visitors accessing the Departures, Arrivals and Gate 5 are required to collect the visitors’ pass from the AFM Office situated near Gate 3.


All visitors shall be escorted by a permanent pass holder at all times whilst in the restricted area.
