In
this section you can find aerial photography taken during some local
flights around the Maltese islands.
Over
the years, often through trial and error, I have learned a lot of
techniques, tricks and tips when taking air-to-air and aerial photos.
A photo camera, especially being in an aircraft, is subject to movements
and vibrations which can make photos blurry. While one might believe
that photography is seasonal, it is not. It is just that each season
introduces different variables into the mix. The higher, brighter
sun in Summer allows the use of finer grain film. This, in turn,
allows you to shoot at faster speeds. Wintertime, for example, when
the sun is lower, a faster film with a coarser grain film needs
to be used.
I patiently wait for perfect conditions: unrestricted visibility,
no clouds, and the right lighting. Aerials will show you facets
of your environment that you never realized no matter how long you
lived there. There
are numerous points of interest in our beautiful island.
