Thruster T600N Sprint, powered by a Jabiru 2200A 4-stroke engine. Three axis microlight with full dual controls, used for flight training. Owned by Island Microlight Club. (Hits: 1779)
On the 22nd of June 2004, just after 1700 local time, the club's AFI and secretary Alex Dalli was enjoying a local flight with a longtime friend, Larry Scerri. They were flying the club's Thruster T600N Sprint and Alex was the pilot in command.
Some time during the flight, the pilot noticed that the engine was not running to his satisfaction, and opted to execute a precautionary landing on a disused road off Marascala.
The landing was textbook perfect, without any harm coming to the passenger or the pilot. The aircraft was not damaged in any way at all.
After that, 9H-UMD was dismantled and transported back to the microlight hangar.
