During the 45 minute flight a buzzard sped past us as if to say that I was trespassing his territory, we were actually soaring like a bird. At another instance whilst flying on top of the hill, I noticed a shepard tending to his sheep looking up at the glider I was in and I felt the freedom in the thrill of flying . I didn't feel wheelchairbound but free as a bird, indeed walking on air.
Anyway, all good things come to an end and it was time to land. Peter lowered the aircraft on top of a lake (loch in scottish) and took a steep right tight turn towards the landing strip back to mother earth.
Did I enjoy it? Well, the smile says it all.To top it up I also had a powered flight experience in a microlight aircraft thanks to Alex Dalli and his Island Microlight Club in Malta a few weeks previously. With the right support and encouragement anything is possible in life! |
